The way that she moves

A Jazzrock / slow Funk track from Acousticeg, Shi, and now me. I didn’t do that much here; just doubled the voice with my fretless bass:

Musicians:

Oh, and just to show my recording session in Ardour, and the two exports (mixed and bass only), here are some screenshots:

Oh, and looking at my folder with those exported files I see that this is the fifth already – and that I already have like one side of a longplay record (LP) together:

You can find them all here or on Wikiloops.

Thanks for listening.

An awesome change

Wow. Just discovered a change on Wikipedia: if you search the German Wikipedia for a word it cannot find, it now shows suggested findings from other languages, in this case from the English sister site – with a 100% hit:

Cool job, everyone, bravo and thanks a lot!

Oh, and if you don’t know what “Frobscottle” is, look it up, and maybe watch the mentioned movie – it’s fun!

Thanks for reading, and cheers…

Being on Facebook, without being on Facebook

I’ve tried Facebook, even twice. But I decided two times already that it’s just too noisy, and not really for me, so I deleted my account there for the second time already. Not easy, since everyone seems to assume that just everyone else is on FB as well (and their links keep bugging you to rejoin again), but ok – I can do without.

Still I found this lately:

Obviously someone over at Wikiloops liked my first upload that much that he (or she) said so on FB – and I’m kind of touched about the mentioning of “wjl’s debut track” – which is of course based upon the awesome work of others (OliVBee from France, moonchild from the USA, and Liesching from Germany). And I agree, that piece is magic – that’s why I chose it as my first one there.

You can scroll down (backwards in time) on this blog for it, or you can listen to “Eternally” on Wikiloops if you wish.

So thanks to Dick, Baer, Richard or whoever posted this (OliVBee? Shi? Just guessing) – it means a lot; thanks again!

To everyone here, thanks for reading. And maybe for listening.

Desperate Androids

And now for something different. Play this one loud if you can:

Musicians:

Thanks for listening. Musicians: consider joining us there in the loops; it’s free and it’s fun (as you might have guessed already)!

Got remixed…

OliVBee, the original template author/creator of what would later be Moonchild’s “Eternally” just remixed my bass into the piece. Here it is, and I think he even did a bit more than just to “mix” it – so merçi encore Olivier:

Enjoy…

If This Is Love

This is Stella from the UK, and I added my fretless bass to her song:

Musicians, so far:

Thanks for listening.

Gonna support Richard

I just discovered and then joined wikiloops at the beginning of this year (2018). And I will become a supporting member as soon as I’m back home today. Here’s Richard, the founder of this cool project:

See it like this: it’s like your rehearsal room for which you pay a low monthly rent. But into this rehearsal room come people from all over the world, and they sit down and play and sing and do great stuff. Now if that isn’t fun then I don’t know what would be.

I played along my first track yesterday, and it really is a lot of fun!

Thanks for your awesome and continued work, Richard!

P.S.: rather than explaining what this is all about, watch this:

– and it even has parts of my name 🙂

Enjoy. And join us if you’re a musician, too!

She made it again

Saturday evening I uploaded another photo of Tuna, our cat onto the Flickr servers, and the great wide interweb. And like with the photo from late January, it was an overnight success again – until yesterday morning it easily climbed up my all time favourite list, where it now resides as the number two most successful of my photos of all time:

I laughed and showed it to Mitchie, with words like: “Look, a simple photo of a cat!”. But still, even if I don’t see it, some people at least seemed to really like it, almost as much as the one from January. So here it is (full size on Flickr as always):

Looking out, Moerfelden-Walldorf 2018

10,418 views, 188 faves, and 6 comments as I write this. So thanks, I also like it. Took this with the new (to me) 75mm/1.8 lens at f/2.5 from the dining room table – you see my chair from the computer desk on the left, and a wall on the right. And Tuna was right beside the sofa, so she could look out the veranda door. Pastime paradise for her 😉

Thanks for viewing.
