Sad news from the Isle of Man: yesterday Spanish rider Raul Torras Martinez, 46, died after an accident in the Supertwin race. Spoken obituary and other coverage here:
One of the written ones with a bit more info is here. RIP Raul, and condolences to your family.
Today would be my brother Willi’s 65th birthday, hadn’t he passed away some three months or 13 weeks ago – so from now on this April 20th will be some sad day to remember. Rest in peace my brother, we all miss you.
Today is also the last day of Ramadan for this year 2023, so in our area it will be over in less than 10 hours from now, at least according to the islamic calendar. This is different elsewhere where people go strictly for sightings of the new moon, so we don’t know whether it’s over already in the East, or when it will be in the West. But anyway, we wish Eid Mubarak, or Id al-Fitr, or Hary Raya Idulfitri, or whatever it may be called in your part of the world.
Looking at the statistics of this website, I see the following for the past year:
Yes, that’s about 40,000 different visitors coming in about 200,000 times in the past year – never thought we’d get that many visitors; cool. Thank you for your interest.
News, category good: LineageOS 20 which is equivalent to Android 13 is out. When I looked yesterday, the download images weren’t online yet, but they seem to appear right now – I saw the one for my Pixel 4a, so I can prolong its life when Google will drop the support for it in August. Maybe until then there’s even the version with microG available so that I won’t have to install the original Google services. Please do this if you own older phones, instead of throwing them away.
Today, only Crunchy came for some shorter visits – maybe at currently -2°C, cats like to stay home (where I hope they have it nice & warm).
Zuleikha decided years ago that December 5th should/would be Tuna’s birthday, so during this time of the year we often think of her. So at the moment, this is my current screen background again:
Terrible to read about the passing of Don T., one of the bluesiest guys I’ve ever heard on Wikiloops… he was a good friend and once even wrote a song for me. I had the honour and pleasure to play on his latest song in the ‘loops and asked him with a PM whether he would also consider to sing on it, no answers so I was thinking of him. So here you have it with a lead guitar from Carlo instead of Don singing:

Condolences to Don’s family, he truly was a wonderful guy! Rest in peace my friend…
