From this evening in very low light:
I had the camera set to colour, and after exporting the .orf file to a .tif using OM Systems’ Workspace I used Silver Efex, and in it the preset 016, I think its name is something like “Full Dynamic Range” or so. The colour image wasn’t bad, but in the end I liked this one more.
Crunchy is gone by now, into the night with 1°C. I hope he’s fine.

At the moment, all three neighbours’ cats are here, and all are sleeping. Two (Wilma and Crunchy) on my bed, and one (Cookie) on the sofa. Earlier, I caught Wilma on my lap with the phone in my hands:
I had been trying different versions of LineageOS on an older Google Nexus 10 tablet device which we had laying around unused, and after trying some unofficial ones I decided to try the latest official build which you can get from Lineageosroms.com, which is LineageOS 13.0 – [ Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) ] as you can see here:
That is some years old already as well (the tablet is about 10, this image more than 4 years old), but it is still a nice compromise between speed, stability, and features. Being the equivalent of Android 6 under its hood, I could even install the Zapp app from the F-Droid store, and so now we can watch Live and/or streamed TV on it, like so:
I had to interrupt my activities to send Mitchie to work with the car, and when we came down to the garage I saw that some neighbour had parked a nice new Honda motorcycle right in front of their partly covered Fiat 500 and beside our car. After coming back, I took a quick pic of that as well:
Oh, and when looking into my blog software today I saw that I’ve got a new version of that as well:
So I’ll have to see what’s new, and whether any of the also new templates (2022 and 2023) are looking good…

After having had Mitchie’s 20mm Panasonic Lumix lens on my camera for a while, yesterday evening I switched them back, so now I have my 17mm Olympus lens again. Here’s a photo of Cookie which I took with that combination today:
And here’s another one from just a few minutes ago:
That’s the in-camera black & white setting without any (virtual or real) filters. Note that I also have set the camera to a 3:2 aspect ratio like we used to have on 35mm film, so I don’t use all the 16 megapixels, only about 14 or so. More than enough for any web images, or for prints up to 45x30cm.

After having so much fun lately with the three different neighbours’ cats which are visiting us, it was time to go and see Tuna’s grave again. So after a bit of driving redirections due to construction areas on our way, we’ve made it to Frankfurt. I took a few photos, here’s one of them:

Someone once said: “Babies don’t sleep – they just recharge” – and that’s definitely true for younger cats as well, at least for this one. First I saw Crunchy in a normal seated position, but his head gradually went lower and lower, until – plopp! – he was on his side:
That was about the same time when Zuleikha came home from school, and when she sat down on the sofa under a blanket, he decided to join her for just a minute. Or two… 😉
Well, people living with cats know this, but if you don’t have that daily it’s just too cute…

Today I took two very different photos of the same “model” (really, these are my favourite models, with not even the slightest trace of vanity). First was with my Olympus camera and Mitchie’s 20mm lens:
And the second one with a “free” camera, the one from LineageOS 18.1 (which is based upon Android 11, see my last article) on a Google Nexus 5 phone from late 2013:
And there he stayed until short after 8pm when I started watching the news (Tagesschau) on this very Nexus 5 phone. Tho I had the sound *very* silent, it still disturbed him enough to sit up, stretch, and then leave, which means that I saw only the first few minutes of the news… 😉
Now he’s gone, and although I’m looking out from time to time, he doesn’t seem to come back – and no other neighbours’ cats either. So that’s it for today as it seems…
