A good and cheap keyboard

I ordered this one at work, to replace my older Logitech keyboard:

\"kc1000-800x530\"

It has JK-0800 as the manufacturer\’s number on its bottom, but it\’s also known as KC1000, which is printed on the lower left of its top surface. It\’s currently the #1 top selling keyboard on Amazon, and available there for under 10€.

Super nice, super quiet, and tho I changed keyboards with the machine running, all keys including the special keys worked as expected – even on Linux. These four special keys are: calculator, mail, browser, and sleep.

Recommended.

  1. I had once a Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard (this curved one). This was a long time ago. Since then I am a Microsoft ergonomic keyboards fan. My setup since few years is the same: Microsoft keyboard (ergonomic) and Logitech Marble trackball.
But still, this Cherry keyboard looks nice. If it has a backlight (having still 10 euro price), it would be great. 🙂 Backlighted keyboard in my ThinkPad is quite nice feature. Much better than this famous LED on the top of the LCD display.

PS I have also some small laptop-like keyboard made by Bakker Elkhuizen company. It is very nice and has very very nice keys feedback (and click sound nice too). Very close to ThinkPad keyboards.

    1. Rafal,

my brother also prefers the Microsoft Natural keyboard – I could never get used to it. And no, this cheap Cherry one isn’t back-illuminated. Still getting used to it at work, but I love its quietness. Much better than the (also cheap) Logitech Deluxe 250 I’ve had before (and which is still good enough for my Lab machine, to which I connect remotely most of the time anyway).
