Not my sharpest photo ever, but it shows feline desire (one way, poor guy). I also tried and liked a new version of Darktable to convert the raw .orf image to a .jpg using only Arch Linux. It’s not as contrasty as the out-of-camera jpg, which improves the image rather than taking anything away.
While my last photo of her was in 16:9 (I was making a video first), I’ve slightly cropped this one into a 3:2 format like in the old Kleinbildfilm days:
Hope you’ll like it – and thanks for viewing as always 🙂
The two neighbours’ cats – Cookie (as we call him) and Wilma (according to a nameplate which she’s lost by now) – come more or less regularly now, which is nice. It’s not easy to take photos of that smaller female one as she’s mostly very agile, but today she first slept beside me on the ground a bit, then on two sofas, and last not least on my chair. By then it was dark outside already, and the only lights in the room were a small LED reading and one indirect light behind the telly, so I had to crank up the ISO to 6400 to even get to 1/10th of a second with my lens fully open at f/1.8 (and a minus correction of -1.3EV because of my black chair). Looks like this:
Shortly after that, she’s had enough, smooched a bit, ate a bit, and then left. And we always hope that they come back, both of them.
Hello all, and a happy (although belated) new year 2022 to everyone. Our Sunday has been a quiet one so far, as you can see on my first photo from this year:
After having two weeks of holidays, starting last Monday we’ve got new windows built into our flat – the whole flat, so all the furniture, computers etc. which was in the way had to be moved, all things which had any value had to be covered, and so on and so forth. A first time for me to actually live in/on a construction zone…
Anyway, we’re almost done. And now we’re kaputt, even our small visitor from the neighbourhood is as you can see:
As you can see, I can take photos and also type again, and my computer has internet again (no WiFi on this machine). The rest will follow…
