We all know that Randall Munroe of xkcd fame is a creative guy. Well, I didn’t know he was that creative - he’s flying kites with a camera attached over Boston, and has great pictures on his site.
He also runs a blag, and had a political and statement about the future lately.
I’ve read about up.time, a professional (and commercial) monitoring solution twice lately. If you’re interested in those, there’s a good review of it on sunhelp.org.
The ODF Alliance is always worth reading, especially if you care about the only legitimate free open document format.
A friend of mine is looking for a real compact subnotebook, something in the size of 12″ or so. I recommended having a look at the Asus Eee PC, what was meant as a joke, more or less. What I didn’t know is that there are guys who try to do just this - exchange their laptops & notebooks, and try that cute little ultra compact.
More onto that is also on EeeUser.com.
The German online magazine heise Netze has a very good (German) article about IPv6 for small networks. And by now there are even cheap providers here in Germany, who will give you a /48 network for affordable prices, even for businesses. You need a lot of employees to make use of a network that size, right?
Another laptop success story with the Thinkpad X61s is on polishlinux.org (read some from Debian Developers lately). Nice little machine, tho a bit on the expensive side.
And that should do for today.
