Matt Asay has a good advice for job seekers:
“Work for an open source company.”
He is even getting good comments on this one, like from Savio Rodrigues, who works for/with IBM.
I also see a big and bright future in open source - which is so much more than just Linux. And that’s why I’m always on the lookout for things like Asterisk or SER (the Sip Express Router). Dealing with protocols like SIP the right way automatically makes you an expert, especially in the opinion of a group which Doc Searls calls “The Suits“. Ergo, it increases your market value, which proves Matt’s and Savio’s points.
