Cat TV

Or is it bird TV, for the cat? I don’t know.

While sitting at my computer, I took this through the windows of our living room (you can see the reflections from the glass, and from our curtains):

These birds come in swarms to pick up some of the bird food which we provide. And this morning it didn’t last too long until “Tuna” the cat came and sat on her favourite place on one of our sofas to watch them:

Technical: I took both of these with my E-520 DSLR, and the 40-150mm kit zoom lens attached to it, the bird with the longest focal length of 150mm, the cat with the shortest of 40mm. For the cat shot, I switched the measuring from matrix (whole frame) to center-weighted to avoid underexposure because of the bright background. Since my E-520 has a much stronger AA (anti-aliasing) filter compared to the E-PL1 “Pen”, I sharpened them both using the RL Deconvolution algorithm with standard settings in RawTherapee. The bird photo was a bit contrast-enhanced, while for the photo of the cat I reduced it.

Thanks for reading.
